Greetings and most humble salutations, I am a transcendent creative born by the name of Janae Harrington. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and as of now I am 26 years of age living in Los Angeles, California following my passions to be a remarkable dancer and artist. I graduated from Alabama State University in May 2020 with a Four year Bachelor degree in Dance. While learning at the University I followed my goal of becoming a HBCU Majorette dancer with the “MMH Sensational Stingettes” dance line. And I danced as a Stingette for 3 conservative years landing Captain my third and senior year Fall 2019 - Spring 2020. With extraordinary innovation and vision for my team we created an unbelievable and legendary era the world calls "Hurricane Harrington" with recordings of 1 million views on platforms like YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
Before attending college I was a member of YCDT, PAVAC Dance and “MNW Golden-Girls” under the direction of Traci Young-Byron. Traci is a skilled, groundbreaking and rousing Miami movement artist who danced for the Miami Heat, was displayed on TV programs like "SYTYCD" and delivered the hit network show "Step It Up" on Lifetime TV which I was 1 of 4 fundamental cast members on. Throughout seven years of preparing under Traci I was fluent in almost every genre of dance, learned professional dance etiquette and how to put my best foot forward in all I do. I am forever grateful for the confidence and lessons instilled in me by Traci Young-Byron. I will continue to utilize all she’s taught me throughout the course of my career.
After graduating college I went back home to Miami to create South Floridas very first HBCU dance line called the “LionEssence Dance Team” at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, Florida. Starting my first team July 2020 with only 4 young ladies I call the “Founding 4” and almost tripling numbers the very next year July 2021 with a full team of 13 dancers. Throughout my time as director I traveled to judge national competitions and hosted dance workshops within my brand #EyezDanceDown. However, due to my strong passion to dance on big stages around the world I decided to step down from my director role at FMU and follow my dreams as a professional dancer. Landing my first industry job March 2022 with Miami’s own “City Girls” for Coachella in Palm Springs, California and many others like Wireless Festival in London and Rolling Loud in Miami.
Since moving to California May 2023 I've had the joy of doing jobs with music artists like the Migos, Usher, Drake, 50 Cent, Da Baby, Sexyy Red and numerous others. The majority of these jobs were Award shows, music videos, national and global tours, concerts, festivals and different events like photoshoots for brand bargains. With full heart and confidence in achieving all my short and long term goals I intend to open 3 dance studios to send artists to universities, into the dance industry and across the world to showcase their gifts. I pray faithfully God keeps on directing my existence with effortlessness, love and harmony. So be it!
